HITS corporate design and website

The Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS) was founded in 2010 by physicist and SAP co-founder Klaus Tschira (1940-2015) and the Klaus Tschira Foundation as a private, non-profit research institution. HITS conducts fundamental research in the natural sciences, mathematics, and computer science. In celebration of its 10th anniversary, the institute decided to refresh its existing corporate design and have it newly developed. Based on the HITS logo, a design grid was created that could be applied to all formats of HITS publications. Whether digital or analog – typography, grid structure, color spaces, and form language – everything was re-evaluated. The visual concept best reflects this approach: a specially developed image generator dissects any original image and reassembles it.

The HITS website was also technically redesigned by Werbeagenten and adapted to the new corporate design. In close collaboration with the HITS communications department, an individualized web presence was created, reflecting the institute in all its facets. Design-wise, it is based on the newly developed corporate design and was implemented using WordPress.
